    Cannonsville drawdown!

NY is full of shit. They were supposed to do that this year. Look what they're doing now, they essentially turned the water off despite the fact the reservoir is like 85-90% full and a tropical storm is coming for the weekend. WTF?

    I'm selling machine tied flies

Ok, is this for real or am I not in the joke? Post of a picture of this machine that will potentially put all third world sweatshops out of business.

    Where are they now?

I don't do any social media except for LinkedIn, for professional purposes, usually to find a job so I can continue to afford this exorbitant hobby. The thing with social media, and most of the other very active forums, is that most of the participants actually know each other. There is a...

Remember the good ole' days (or not so good)?

Let me start things off then. The snow pack this year, its terrible. The flows will dry up to a trickle, concentrating all of the fracking juice in the water, all the trout will die of OD's. All the drift boats and stinktoons will be piled up and low-holing each other as they battle their way...

    West Branch Float

I thought you had your own boat? Sell it, or just wanted to be guided for a day? Where did you float too, Balls or Shehawken?

    Heading out tomorrow 4-28

The important question here is what kind of beer cans? Quality brew I hope? A day on the river calls for quality brew at a minimum (even if you’re wading).

    Douglas Sky 6wt for sale

I'm sure its a great rod, do any of the major makers make a bad rod these days? Its more of an academic question. Our man MACFLY regularly sells the hottest rods of the season, so I'm wondering how much of their "hotness" is internet or fly-rod shop hype vs. reality. I've personally found the...

    Douglas Sky 6wt for sale

Now that its been sold, I have to ask, what did you not like about it? The sky is supposed to be THE 6wt. to own according to the interwebs.

    Stripers in the D

I’ve seen strippers up there in June and July. Some were still silver not too long out of the salt, others were almost black and looked like long-time residents. In what’s considered the trout water, I’ve caught smallies, walleyes, sunnies, and rock bass. I’ve seen pike in Lordville, and a...

    Stripers in the D

I've seen them at Bard schooling with the carp, every one I've seen has been huge, as in easily eating a 12-14" trout huge. I've also seen them further downstream, interestingly, after they've been in the river for a while they turn much darker. I had one follow a 20" walleye up that I was...

    Stripers in the D

Seen them all the way up in Bard, its no big secret. You can fish for them too, but you have to dodge the 5000 people with their canoes, pontoon boats, tubes, etc. paddling around in circles right through where the fish are rising, like its the pool from Caddy Shack.

    Douglas Sky 6wt for sale

Will you take propane accessories for this? I have some regulators for trade. I won't be getting a stimulus check since I'm one of the old, evil white guys they're taking money from to bankroll this entire stimulus circus, I suppose I had it coming for years hard work and good living. To...

    Trigger point fibers

Big flies its deer hair all the way, the stiff structure holds its shape better and you can really utilize the hollow-core of the hair. Small flies though I like the split-wing EPF. Its easier to clean up and revive after it gets wet or sore-lips a fish. Its overall sturdier after a couple of...

    Trigger point fibers

I use them all the time. Floats really well (takes floatant nicely), and looks better after a little bit of a beating. I think they're much better for small flies than deer hair, and I'm a deer hair nerd.

I have no problems with spending a day catching bows. I'm sure the WB is still getting pounded though.

    another fishing report

Well here's another for you. I went up and fished the Mainstem yesterday and had a spectacular day. Went double digits with bows. Caught the first 2 nymphing to wash the skunk off, and then caught the rest on a combination of dry/dropper, then all dry in the evening. Only people I saw were a...

    Dlaware River Snakeheads

Snakeheads come from the same place as all 3 Bubonic plagues and every influenza pandemic ever. One story is that an enterprising entrepreneur stocked them into his local pond in Florida so that he would have a never ending supply to overprice and sell in his store. I guess we know how the rest...

    Need a change of scenary

If beating the crowds and getting frustrated is what you seek, theres always the Upper East. Otherwise I'm in the same situation as you. I want to fish, but can't bring myself to burn a day to go and fight for a spot on the West. I may start trolling some PA streams too.
