    Essential tackle

    What do you consider the bare minimum to take on the stream with you for a full day on the river. sometimes i feel like i have too much stuff. can you get away with less gear? i'd like to just have Rod/reel 2 fly boxes net foreceps snips backup leaders/tippet bb shot. Would that be enough?

    one from the musky 10/24/15

    things were slow, but anglers were hooking up, got this guy in one of the holes Rusty & crew dug out. the spring should be total madness! i may hit it a few more times this fall. hopeful that the rain we've been promised arrives and gets the water moving.

    Flymantis finally lands one in the Gorge

    Finally got a trout in my net at the gorge! hooked three others, one shot straight up out of the water and spit the hook. the water was moving ok, but a bit murky, the bite is on though.

    pro's and cons of wader matierial

    after two years of neoprene waders, i bought a pair of, breathables.... i found the neoprene to be warmer, but the breathables less restricting. what are you using, and how do you like it?

    fished pt. mountain today...

    got two landed another hit it and let go, had the area mostly to myself until noon, when i left. this one rainbow, some scales seem to be patterned a bit darker. maybe it's changing color? i've never saw this before.

    looking for a new 4wt

    narrowed down to these rods: Redington Classic Trout Redington Voyant Orvis Access Okuma Guide any one own or cast these models? i have a nice Redington Rise Reel to pair it up with, i'm really leaning to one of their rods. there is also the fiber glass butter stick.

    Biggest Trout so far.

    this morning at the musky, i got skunked on the fly, but i had brought my ultra lite with me, second cast yields my biggest trout since i started trout fishing 3 years ago, returned to the river, swam away strong.

    according to the N.J. Fish and wild life site, they stocked Farrington with Trout. i can't make the trip to the Musky or Gorge this month, wonder if it's worth the quick ride over there to see if the stockers will take a fly over there.

    mid flex vs tip flex in relation to casting, or playing the fish?

    i'm researching Fly rods, hopefully getting one this fall or over the winter, so is the rod flex related to your cast or how the rod flexes when playing a fish? would it serve me better in N.J. to have one over the other?
