    good news for the Raritan

Maybe the Passaic will get some love someday too. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/njs-largest-river-to-flow-freely-for-1st-time-in-180-years/ar-AALAFgt?li=BBnb7Kz The Raritan will apparently be an unencumbered freestone once again. Stripers at KLG!

    River rights

The board has been so slow lately. I'm sure a debate may ensue but without taking sides, I just thought this was a fun read about river rights: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/drawing-a-line-in-the-sand-over-river-rights?utm_source=pocket-newtab

    Fishing report - Doublekill

I'd been meaning to explore the Doublekill for years. Finally did it on Saturday. I hiked for about a mile to place I could have driven to (No details provided) and headed downstream from there. Had to some decent bushwhacking but did find some beautiful water and caught a bunch of fish on a...

    Long Eddy access harrassment

Anyone else get filmed and harassed by the douche bag at the Long Eddy river access on Ferry Street? The regional Park Ranger dispatch number is 570-426-2457. Apparently they are the law enforcement body responsible for maintaining order. I wish I had this with me on Sunday. I suggest calling...

    Camelback

I'll be at Camelback this weekend. Should I get a one day PA license and find some water? I won't have too much time and won't be back in PA anytime soon. It looks lie 26.90 for the license and 9.90 for the trout/salmon permit. That's pricey for a couple of hours on brookie stream. Let me know...

    Wanaque

Haven't fished my home state in ages. Thinking about swearing I am not a dead-beat Dad and hitting the Wanaque below Greenwood Lake on a warm fall day. Anyone been there lately? Bright colored flies? Any actual hatches this time of year? Thanks Tom

    taking advantage of a drought

If the DEP issues a drought warning, that means that they can move some of their water around lakes a reservoirs to meet demand. Anyone know if this could result in a few days of great fishing as, for example, they move water through the Wanaque river form one lake/reservoir to another?

    old pics

I posted some pictures many years ago when there was a gallery feature of some sort. They were not in a thread. I just checked photos under my profile and they are not there. I think I used to see them there. It says no recent activity. Are they gone for good? They are of a stretch of the NBR...

    Scenes from the wilderness

Some small streams. One is the Neversink and the other is unknown (to me) deep in the wilderness. And one is a few mountains.

    dam hacked

So the dam control systems can be hacked. I wonder how Iranian hackers feel about flexible flow and if they plan on getting more cold water into the system or less. http://www.northjersey.com/news/banks-dam-targeted-by-iranian-hackers-us-says-7-charged-1.1532820

    Above Bear Swamp Lak(swamp)

Anyone ever fish North Jersey's favorite brookie stream above the lake? It's a pretty good hike to get there. I've been a few times lately exploring with dogs and no rods. Found the feeder streams (I am a real Sherlock) but wonder if they hold fish. They're running very nicely at the moment...

    West Milford Saturday

So I might actually get some time to fish this weekend. it's been too long. I'll have 2 hours or so to kill from after I drop off the load at West Milford High School Saturday early afternoon. Any thoughts? Double Kill, West Brook, or door number 3? Wild trout streams are preferred so feel free...

    more bears

Around here I definitely find my self on the left of the crowd. Which is a bit weird as I love freedom and support responsible gun ownership. I just can't stand getting lumped in with these pro bear morons. The comments in this article from the Record about bear problems in NJ lately are...

    Bear Swamp Dam

So I was reading this little article about Ringwood State Park withering away due to weather and lack of funds. Time not on side of Ringwood State Park - News - NorthJersey.com Not really a fishing article I know, but at the end it mentions saving capital to replace Bear Swamp Dam. "A big...

    The Big P

Well these walls aren't going to help the scenery or fishing. I prefer the tunnel plan. Or with $3-$4 billion why not just buy up the flood plain and let it be a flood plain: $3B plan offered to corral Passaic River - News - NorthJersey.com
