    Agreed. Plenty long for 'portrait" style, and plenty wide for scenics.

    I personally love it. First off, it isn't that bright white of the Canon L lenses. That in itself is enough of a bonus! Aside from that, for the constant 2.8 aperture, even if it is a *bit* soft on the edges at 2.8, it is well worth the savings for what a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 would run...

    I usually make do with three zooms, plus a couple of prime lenses, if need be. A Tokina 12-24 f/4 Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 (macro) Canon 24-70 f/2.8 Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro Canon 50mm f/1.4 That usually takes care of what ever I need to take pictures of.
