Remember that it does not truly get dark in the rockies until almost ten o'clock. Guiding for 12 hours is too long to float or wade every single day for the whole season. A couple of responses to your post... The salmonfly hatch is typically far more predictable on medium sized tailwaters of the west such as colorado's gunnison and henry's fork of the snake in idaho. The gunnison salmonfly hatch is super consistent, maybe the most anywhere, always early june...- coloradoguide
