Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Thanks a lot to everybody who provided advice on here. I went up October 4th and witnessed the first big run of kings and cohos during a rainstorm at the beginning of the DSR. I got a switch rod and hooked one king on the swing at meadow run near the cut banks and broke him off in a few secs...
Hey Mike , big fan of your books founding flies and Catskill dry flies. Did you make that canoe? I am considering getting an adirondack guide boat if I can find a cheap fixer upper. I was looking for hex hatches a month ago up at some beaver ponds in vt but no luck. Found a monsterous 10 acre...
Atlantic salmon way up in northern canada or dorado down in Argentina . Also never caught sea run brookies or browns, Id also love to catch a Dolly Varden or aurora trout just to admire there color and beauty
The letort is a really special place. And loaded with fish , the hard part is not sinking into the mud or getting you fly caught in te high meadow grass. I wish I lived closer to there I would spend many hours there
Glad I didn't waste my time checking out that fishing creek. Ended up just getting home from
the 3 hour drive and didn't even get out to explore. I never heard of Clark's creek and sounds like a nice place. I drove over yellow breeches and was tempted to stop. I have seen photos of lefty keep...
Working tommorow inspecting a Job out in mechanicsburg. Last time I was out that way in may I visited letort spring run closeby. Was the most difficult fishing I ever did but scenery was unreal after a rainfall. I saw fishing creek is dead north of mechanicsburg in the gamelands, is this the...
This reminds me of a song from a show my baby son watches, it's goes " I like bugs , I like bugs" that's pretty much it but it's our anthem. I love fly fishing simply because it is ever evolving
I never found time to help plant in the spring , was doing more work on my new property setting up the garden for the wife. Will be looking out for when to bring the kids up to help.
I was really thinking about a double handed rod more so I could cast from the bank with back casting into trees and if it's gets super crowded if it's easier to Spey cast without foul booking another fisherman. Thanks everybody for all the advice on flies to tie. Do you guys use tungsten...
While spending a week in Vermont, my grandmother in law picked me up Lee Wulff's Salmon on the Fly Book from the library. I read it after dinner, through the night and while I at breakfast. What an exciting book, one day when I'm done raising my five boys I'll find some time to go to Nova...
