    Catskill Report 5/07/13

Great report and nice fish. I agree the grizzly hackle wing spinner is the way to go. The figure 8 wraps come out good but sometimes I have to fiddle with the hackle to make it looks just right. I tie a white Antron post on the back sometimes so I can see the fly in low light. The fish on the...

Since you guys are on the topic of the catskills...I'm heading up to the Delaware tomorrow to fish either the upper east or west.... anyone have any reports? Also anyone ever run into midday sulphurs on the upper upper east similar to the upper west..ive heard this occurs but have never seen it...

    BIG NJ Browns

Anyone notice that this guy floated the SBR. I've never heard of this. Whered you float? I haven't noticed any boat launches over there. What was the flow that you were able to float it. Nice fish by the way.

    Where to fish?

By July the beaverkill will almost definitely be too warm and the KLG may also. The eastern PA limestone's are a good bet as well as the branches of the upper Delaware. The closer you go to the reservoir you will always have cold water and heavy sulphur hatches. Keep in mind anywhere that has...

    nets and netting material

That's not a decent thing to say to someone you don't know. I use my aluminum net because of it's superior performance characteristics as compared to wood. These are it's higher strength to weight ratio, it's resistance to rotting, and lower cost to manufacture in volume. I would recommend you...

    Main Stem Delaware

Sorry Bruce, I didn't see this 'til now. I didn't end up floating since everything was so low. I waded the lower east and had the river turn on about 2 hours before dark. I got 3 nice fish that made my night. The biggest one is up on the baxter house's fishing report near the end (my Dad...

    nets and netting material

Recently I Was looking for a net with a longer than average handle and big bow. I found a black anodized aluminum net by Ed Cumings that has the exact dimensions as the Brodin ghost Frying Pan float tube for $22. I bought the Brodin large rubber net for $25 on eBay and tied it onto the frame. I...

Boot Cleat Stubs on rubber boot waders

The standard zinc-plated steel sheet metal screws would probably work fine. That steel is not nearly as hard as carbide, but not as soft and frictionless as brass (which evidently works). Patagonia uses alumnum so there must be merit to the idea that soft is beneficial.

East Branch Delaware River - NYS DEC Application

This would be the same gentleman that put the huge boulders upstream of Long Flat? In the opinion of a guide up there that did nothing but hurt that stretch. The boulders were monsters, like smart Volkswagon Beetles.
