Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

I'll be in SW Pennsylvania next week, anyone know of any fishing opportunities there? south of Pittsburgh...some park, a family vacation with the in-laws, I'll want to get away for a bit..:)
The closest town is Seven Springs....so I'm assuming there will be plenty of water....

Mac usually has the best advice, so I'll wait for his reply.

And he may have the perfect rod and plastic reel combo for you...

Plenty of good options LU just depends what you're looking for and how much time you have

Trying to figure out how that question offended you emoussa. Your reply could have been I have a day or half a day in Oregon or Washington. This way I know what advice to give you. But hey carry on. It's all good

i will probably have one day to fish....one whole day, so I better plan well, I'm looking for trout, but any fish will do, carp, bass, pike, sunnys, crappy, perch(like that wild NJ perch I caught), anything that swims, snakeheads, walleye, you name it, I'll fish for it, suckers, saugers, anything....:)

Come on Mac, I'm just busting balls.

MAC, that was funny, you are acting like a triggered snowflake....:holy::looser::):):)

I thought that sounded familiar...
Just looked up "Seven Springs" on Google Earth.

That's just south of where my wife grew up.
You haven't met my in-laws....:smiley-sniffer:
Not the place to be a city boy with fancy fishing duds and a flyrod.
Can you squeal like a pig?

The "civilized" in-law went to the impoundment at Yellow Creek, but he wasn't a fly fisherman, and it's a bit out of your way. He targeted bass, walleye, muskellunge, and pike.

Before I ruined their lives, the evil stepkids used to fish the creeks (Laurel Run, Yellow Creek and Little Yellow Creek) for stocked trout. .... Again, a bit out of your way. Bring worms.

Ohiopyle! For smallies or trout. The Youghegheny (just call it the Yock) is a legit trout stream. 30 minutes away from your in-laws. Stockies and holdovers and tons of smallies.

There not worn out and old because you are a country boy, there worn and old because your cheap.

So, I got to fish for about an hour. while I hiked with my wife....I fished Kooser Run, in Kooser State park, saw one fish, that was tough though because the stream was washed out and muddy, lots and lots of rain..got a hit on a hares ear...but that was it, beautiful landscapes though... nice creek also...
