Hunting with Dluver

a NY state mule deer... you should write an article about an angler who targets NY state cutthroats

nice deer Dluver

I asked for a pic.

I didnt ask for a whitetail.

Next time I will ask for a whitetail.

I was misled by the "Most mags wouldnt publish a hunting article with a guy who bagged no NY bucks this year" and the subsequent picture. My reading comprehension is not up to par with the publisher's intellect. My sincere apologies.

Riveting I feel like I'm right in the deer stand with him missing the 8 pt buck and peeling my pants:)

IMG_0117.jpgi have contacted my lawyers and GB mag will be shut down or until he compensates me with the Triangle Taper fly line that i am owed:boxing:

I want some deer jerky....I want some deer, jerky....I want some, deer jerky.....

There are too many deer in NJ.....

As a peace offering, and to compensate him for his contribution.....
You should probably buy him a the latest in rifle scopes.
Bullseye from 1,000 yards: Shooting the $17,000 Linux-powered rifle | Ars Technica

Remington makes a lower cost commercial version of this licensing the Tracking Point technology. I think distance is limited to no more than 500 yards so that fools aren't taking outrageously long shots at animals. Apparently the tech isn't 100% foolproof.

Does this kind of technology appeal to you as a hunter?

Got this picture of Dluver today.

It was taken shortly after he climbed down from his tree stand for lunch.

"I will prepare my lunch, but have a short nap before I eat it. That way, when I wake up, my lunch will be ready."

And so Dluver prepared his lunch, and set it beside him... And then he thought how the deer werent moving today, and napped...

I've got 27 pounds of venison waiting for me to find time to make jerky out of it. But that's what the holidays are for. Soon, very soon. In the meantime, I'm still enjoying backstraps from a NY buck. And Jersey is next up after I got the skunk in PA earlier this week. And then there's always the remainder of permit bow season as well as winter bow to look forward to.

I wish I could get into hunting. I'm only 26 but I feel like it's too late. Every year I say this will be the year I make the dive but then I remember the time and effort my hunter friends used to put in and say fuck it.

Hunting is no different than fishing. Put in what time you can afford and be thankful for that. It's not all about the killing, like fishing isn't all about catching. A walk in the woods or swamp with a gun or bow is different that just a walk in the woods.

Pennsylvania was good this year. My son and I both filled our tags.
There will indeed some fine eating in the coming months.
