How many flies do you want, and how many swappers do we have in the swap? For my Mayfly, I will tie a Usual, for my caddis I'm not sure yet.

Why don't we each tie a caddis and each tie a mayfly?

You can count my father in on this one too. He enjoyed everyone's fly's.

I mentioned that this may require him to tye 2 fly's, and he said no problem.

    Thumbs up Dry Fly Swap

    Andy,
For the dry fly swap, I will tie an Ausable Wulff, which I use to imitate a March Brown. It works great as a strike indicator for a tandem connected (bead head) nymph.

    Question

    Hi Guys:

Please see below who signed up for the Dry Fly Swap so far:

    1) Andy B Henryville Special

    2) Rich T Ausable Wulff

    3)NjNmpher

    4) Senor' Edd

    5)Superhntr

    6) Dcabarle

    7) Flyin

    8) Jonboy

    9) JasonM

    10) Bestbugz

    11) Denis's Father

Ok I need some questions answered by you fine folks.

    1) Do you want the Dry fly swap to be a caddis fly or may fly?

If it is this way it means so far only ten fly's would have to be tyed by each partipant.

    2) Do you want the Dry fly swap to be a caddis fly and a mayfly pattern?

This would mean every participant would have to tye ten Mayfly's and Ten Caddis Flys for a total of twenty fly's

    3) if the swap is only a Caddis or a Mayfly would you object to tying twenty flys' of the same pattern?

The sign up dead line is this Friday March 7, 2003. Is every one comfterable with Fly's due to me no later than April 1, 2003 dead line. For me the amount of fly's to be tied is not a problem. I am just trying to make it easy for all our new tyers so they feel they have enough time to complete there fly's without being rushed.

I am asking eveyone who signed up for answers to my questions and patterns they are going to tye. So far the past two swaps have been fun so Let's make it fun again and enjoyable for every one.

    Thanks

    Andy B

I'm a fairly new tyer, but it doesn't matter how many flies. Just as long as we decide in a week or so about how many. I will be at least tying a hairwing caddis, and possibly another pattern if needed.

I think we should leave it as, dry flies period. State what you are going to tie so no one else will duplicate it. If you give 11 guys 3 different options then you can probably expect 33 different answers. Trust me, it can take a lot of people sometime to come up with their decision and it will probably be beyond the deadline date of March 7th. Let Andy make the final decision. Andy initiated the swap.

    Dry Fly Swap

I'll do what is comfortable for everyone else. I'll be tying either the Usual, or an Ausable Caddis, or both, your call. you be the man.

    Dry fly swap

    Andy,
My preference would be your # 1, 2, 3 in that order. But, I'm game no matter what the group decides. If the weather breaks soon, I have some little black stoneflies that are ready to be trout tested.

If you guys go with Mayflies,i'm gonna tie a PMD Hairwing Dun or if it's Caddis Patterns. I'll go with a Black Caddis Parachute.

    Talking

    Hello everyone:

Here is how the swap is going to go. You can tye a Caddis Dry Fly or a Mayfly Dry fly. No one has not spoken up about the dead line so April 1, 2003 the fly's will be due. Once again if this is a problem for any one you will have until Sunday March 9, 2003 to say so. I need the following people to to tell me what they will be tying:

    1) Superhnter
    2) dcabarle
    3) dcabarle's Dad
    4) flyin

Here is the complete list who has signed up so far and pattern they will be tying:

    1) Andy B Henryville Special

    2) Rich T Ausable Wulff

    3) njnympher PMD Hairwing Dun

    4) Senor' Edd Ausable Caddis

    5) Superhnter ????????????????

    6) dcabarle ????????????????

    7) flyin ????????????????

    8) Jonboy Hairwing Caddis

    9) JasonM CDC Biot Caddis

    10) Bestugz Caddistopher (Caddis/Stimulator)

    11) dcabarle's Dad ????????????????

Dead line for sign-up for this swap will be 12:00 Midnight Friday March 7, 2003. Each tyer so far has to tye a total of ten fly's. This could change based if any more people sign up by the deadline. If this does happen I will post the change A.S.A.P. Next week I will give out my address so tyers when they are finished can send thier fly's to me. Have fun and I look forward to seeing every ones work.

    Thank You
    Andy B
