River Run Restaurant
Anyone (here)ever eat here?
Ive got a b-day coming up and my wife suggested we go to the river.
She is trying to get me to fish more... She's a peach, right?
Actually my money is on that she is having an affair; but what the hell, I can fish more...
ANYWAY, I'm looking for a nice place to eat... any other suggestions?

The DeBruce is like a "fine dining" spot on the Willow. Has a tasting menu upstairs, and pub menu downstairs.
Arnold House in Manor.
Katskeller in Manor.
I've never been to the Vietnamese place in Hancock but I hear its great (I think it's seasonal and only open on the weekends)
I end up eating at the beaver del alot, but idk if that's where I'd want to celebrate my 75th birthday
Lacey: Where'd you get that pistol?
Blevins: At the gettin' place.

Re: River Run Restaurant
Hi, I would go to the Riverview Restaurant right on the Beaverkill by the Sunoco station. The food is excellent an you can watch the river for flies hatching. Every time my wife and I go to the Roscoe area we make sure to go to the RiverviewQUOTE=moosekid;261021]The DeBruce is like a "fine dining" spot on the Willow. Haven't been there for a while but I've eaten at River Run a few times over the years and it's always been very good. I second the recommendation for the restaurant next to the Sunoco station in Horton (Riverside Cafe) - it's excellent. Only about a 25 min drive from Hale Eddy. And another, just about the same distance to the west in Conklin, Moxie, also well worth the drive.

Re: River Run Restaurant
River Run is good food. I wouldn't call it 5 star but it's enjoyable, the ambiance is terrific, and the people are friendly. Tough place to beat within a 10 mile radius! lol.

Maybe I'll just stop by GB's place , see what he's got in the freezer and grill out in his back yard...
Unless of course he did as I suggested to him and he's living off the fat of the land... Which is what every self respecting anti-fracker should be doing... I suspect he's got some solar panels and a heat pump system, or maybe he's heating with the wood he cleared to make way for the extensive gardens he'll need to raise his growing family. But what a dilemma... should he cut down trees that are sequesterng away carbon?... but anyway,, if he's there, living off the fat of the land as it were , I can just make a donation and break bread with him...

Re: River Run Restaurant
Americans used to have great respect for the pioneering homesteaders who settled much of our land. Now we just make fun of people who want to live a simple life. We also suggest it as a derision for people we don't agree with.

'Well it's been over a week and Tompg doesn't want to explain his comment(I think we ALL know it was pointed at me!)Maybe he doesn't want his hypocrisy exposed... I guess I'll give him another day or so to respond (he has visited since my LAST post).
Maybe he's had a change of heart... ALL he have to do is say "my bad"...

I have one in 7 weight and fished it almost exclusively on my Labrador trip a couple of summers back, catching brookies, Atlantic salmon, lake trout, pike, and whitefish. I tossed big streamers,...
