Need a change of scenary
Where are the good spring creeks in PA/NY, not far from the Jersey border? I used to fish the Saucon but it got boring.
The Delaware is my favorite stream but on any given day there are 150 guides split up on the rivers. I used to like fishing the WB this time of year but Hale Eddy is almost impossible to put in or take out which means the access points are limited and a lot more people are fishing the already over crowded areas of the river.
I want big hungry browns!

Re: Need a change of scenary
Check out the Lehigh River in Pa. might have to deal with tubers this time of year but it is an up and coming River. Good river to float but wading is a nightmare.

Re: Need a change of scenary
Spring Creek, Fishing Creek, Big Spring Creek are your best bets right now. If you want to get really frustrated and see a tone of nice browns, Letort Creek also has good water now. The Lackawanna River just north of Scranton also has cold water from a couple of mine drainage's and has some nice wild browns of good size. I have fished all except Big Spring, which I would guess is the farthest for you anyway. There is also a spring creek called White Deer off 80 near Milton that is smaller but is a good stop too. One other that's closer is Tom's, I think the water is cold enough there now and it is close, but also small.

Excellent book Trout Streams of Pennsylvania by Dwight Landis tells you all you need to know about Pa streams.

Re: Need a change of scenary
Forget about the Lack this time of year, the flows are way too low and the temps are too high to be screwing with the natural brown trout population. If you want to fish the Lack, then fish for the holdover stocked rainbows above Simpson. I may be up there myself this weekend.
Toms although ok on temp is extremely low. I know I just fished it a week ago.
All the small creeks are very low unless you can get on them within a day of a good rain, as I fished Satan's Ass last weekend only a day after the big rains and it was almost too low to fish. However I did get double digit small browns on a pink Humpy.
I can't believe DC actually asked for everyone's fishing spots...

The Delaware has become a ridiculous shit show of boats and guides .
It’s hard not to drive by the Deposit bridge and see a line of boats stacked
Up one after the other. The rivers mentioned are all good choices, but if you want to use your boat and not drive too far from Hancock and probably not see another boat on the river try fishing the Susquehanna from Bainbridge down for Smallmouth and Walleyes. I know you said Big Browns but the smallmouth on the Susquehanna are a nice alternative . The river has some nice fish , scenery and not swarmed with boats
and guides.

I spent several springs fishing the Lackawaxen long ago, before I moved up the Delaware and discovered the tail waters. I fished with Charlie and Ivan and those other geezers who hung out around that...
