Re: the drought that wont end
FF, I think what he is trying to say is that there is 100%+ snow pack in much of the western mountains and that as it melts it will flow east and make the Delaware rise for days on end.
How's that for spin?

Re: the drought that wont end
Bottom line is the reservoirs are pretty full and it looks like to be a great Spring. Having bought a farm up here last year ( I'm not a farmer , just a beautiful property to raise our kids). I love to see the reservoirs filling up but still maintaining a safe void and flow control. We have the Susquehanna flowing through the front of our property and the west branch is 10 minutes away. My home never flooded, just some water in the basement at the worst of any of the floods, but many of the homes did. It was something I was very conscious of when looking for a home here. Many homes were under water during those floods. So far so good with the Susquehanna,it's pretty high but still within its banks ,and there's a large field with a pretty steep bank up to the road and our house ,shop and barns are on the other side of the road elevated above the road. I pass the
West Branch just about everyday and it's high and a little muddy, but nothing out of control.
Hopefully we'll get to float the drift boats this year, never got a chance last year just too busy.

Re: the drought that wont end
John
I re- posted the graph below because NJ Fred called me and said we where BOTH wrong, and that as of yesterday there is still .75 inches of snow left (water)
The graph below was sent from him.
I'm not sure why there is even a debate here. For those that care about the Fishery are all happy campers.
-Drought is over
-Went from 17% into the 90's in the Cannonsville
-All reservoirs are above 90%
-There is still some snow
-Good amount of rain in the forecast for this week.
-Good chance for a spill
-Plenty of water in all of the rivers
All is well.Time to move on.

I added the graph after Fred called me and said we where BOTH wrong. As of yesterday there is still snow left as you can see in the graph below.
Not sure why there is even a debate?
For those who really care about the fishery we are all happy campers.
All Reservoirs are over 90%
Cannonsville went from 17% into the 90's
There is some snow left to melt
Looks like a forecast this week with a good amount of rain
The rivers are all full.
Good chance of a spill.
All is well.Time to move on.

Re: the drought that wont end
If the forecast for rain is correct this week the Cannonsville will spill.Right now it's at 97.5%

Re: the drought that wont end
The Cannonsville has started spilling. With the current inflow and the forecast for more rain it should pick up steam and we'll have a pretty significant spill.
With the inflows into the Pepacton and the Neversink they will probably start spilling in the next few days as well.
WATER WATER EVERYWHERE
I'd say the drought is officially over.

We have just been set-up for the next drought....

Right, so how will they know if you are targeting shad? They will probably just watch from the woods with binoculars for a few, until they see what you are doing, kind of like Grobert does every time...
Keep an eye out for American shad...
