And tis true. I had a difficult two days up there for sure. First day it down poured like crazy and found just how selective the Browns up in deposit could be. Lost both of my sulphur cripples (and only two I had) that produced. Second day hot and sunny. I def like to think I learn something every time out, but would like to think I'm far from a so called fly fisherman. Humbling for sure.

Heading upstate this weekend to west Canada. Hopeful that I can catch some of the white fly hatch.

I apologize for the defensive post all.
That river humbles the best of us.* A good day for a good fisherman up there is 2-3 fish when the conditions are tough. Don't let anybody tell you different.

And no worries about missing the sarcasm. Ain't exactly fair making inside jokes to a newb (to the forum that is).

    * The best of us goes by the name of Golden Beetle. Ever heard of him? Famous celebrity tier and fisher. A little bit on the eccentric side, like all the greats. If you haven't heard of him, you should look him up.

It's true - people say that those who have watched him fish have either immediately gone blind and committed suicide by jumping out of their driftboats with their waders on, or have simply dropped their equipment and walked away, giving up fly fishing for good.

That's how beautiful his technique is. You'll never want to fish again after witnessing it in person.

That may be difficult, as you need to have a "fish on" before you can have a "fish off"....

(Beetle you know I love ya. let's float in september. I'll row and take notes while you target rising chubs from 80 feet.)

I would enjoy a day of September fishing with you.

Charlie plans to keep his new wooden drift boat on my land, which is great, although I'm not sure my Hyundai Tucson (front wheel drive) will be able to haul that thing (although I do have use privileges)... It's heavy enough that it wrecked his transmission, although if you add the cost of a totaled Bronco and towing expenses, for both the Bronco and the boat, this wooden one seater with a cooler for a second is still a pretty good deal. Price was 600, just for the boat, but to be fair add another 4000 or so for the tows and totaled vehicle so far in its wake.

I should be able to return the favor if my car can move it, although if it doesn't we'll have to pay for another tow to the boat launch.

I have a vehicle that will easily tow that thing......I just need the hitch. So tows for floats sound good to me....

Would you tow it to the launch for Mudbug and I?

    I'd give you 35 bucks.
