Re: Anyone want to float the west branch Sunday 8/21?

As long as the rain is a steady rain and not thunderstorms. Nothing like floating in the middle of a river holding a graphite stick during a thunderstorm. Very exillarating

To look good is to fish good

I hear if you stand with one foot on each of the pvc pontoons, it'll ground you out.

Touch one to an electric cow fence when you are wet wading knee deep in the Yellow Breeches.......I have never seen my Grandfather laugh so hard....electrifying!!!!

Figuring on an all day float, starting around dawn till whenever.

Saturday is also a possibility but Sunday may be easier.

Great. Just what the west branch needs. Another STINKTOON with a so-called fly fisherman in it, floating down the middle of the bubble line in my favorite hole.

I remember when this river was worth a damn!

    not anymore!

(okay that was me. But I'm sure Cdun is thinking it, wherever he is.)

OP: Please provide detailed fishing report. Bonus points for photos of fancy beer you drank and manly streamside luncheon.

Dont drink fancy beer...and pretty sure I've never had a "luncheon" on the banks. So called? LOL. Probably been tying and fishing a lot longer then you have. Forgive me for trying to get away from people like yourself on the river.

To be fair, he was making fun of a dude that gets all pissy when the WB gets choked with boats in May.

And in the second bit, he was encouraging you to write a report -- but hinting that you might wanna refrain from posting glamour shots of IPAs and artisan cheeses.

In short, he was being welcoming and you missed the sarcasm.

So I propose a fish-off. Let this so-called fisherman named Mudbug into the trenches with CMS829 -- I hear he spent 2 full days on the Upper D and almost caught a fish!

Lacey: Where'd you get that pistol?
    Blevins: At the gettin' place.

Re: Anyone want to float the west branch Sunday 8/21?

Guess I did miss the sarcasm. Sorry about that.

And tis true. I had a difficult two days up there for sure. First day it down poured like crazy and found just how selective the Browns up in deposit could be. Lost both of my sulphur cripples (and only two I had) that produced. Second day hot and sunny. I def like to think I learn something every time out, but would like to think I'm far from a so called fly fisherman. Humbling for sure.

Heading upstate this weekend to west Canada. Hopeful that I can catch some of the white fly hatch.

I apologize for the defensive post all.
