Actually, the forum's anti-spam software flagged this post for automatic moderation.
IMHO: It borderline. Considering the leeway we give Shannons, I decided to approve it.
In Pursuit of Trout:
I don't have a problem with the minimal link in your "signature", but the text and link in the post (just below the pictures) was a bit problematic.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
I think it's borderline as well, but I didn't know the policy and the first post is an easy way to find out. I'll contact the owner for advertising rates/sponsorship opportunities.
Thank you Pete.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
Really? Shannon's occasionally posting info about FREE tying classes that are open to anyone and everyone is "borderline"? Or maybe it was that video back in Dec. showing large trout being stocked in the South Branch for everybody to enjoy and the "Is this Bubba?" posts that followed. Either way, they sure seem less "borderline" in terms of being relevant to fly fishing than the far more common political pissing matches that take place here. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
I don't know about any of that if you were referring to me- I was saying my post was borderline. I will be posting some tutorials but I also want to promote my website and social media pages as well.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
I don't have a problem with the post, nobody post much anyway so what's the big deal? If you're going to draw attention to this particular post than you should also draw attention to the posting of links to the next addition of a certain "Mag" (which I don't have a problem with either).

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
There's a big difference between the two.
"New guy" needs to find people to go to his website, in part, to buy stuff.
He hopes to make a little money.
He plans on using OTHER people's websites to drive folks to his.
Other people have spent a bunch of money and spent a bunch of time on their websites.
"New guy hasn't(yet) but wants the traffic from OTHER sites, to go to his.
He should pay or trade or whatever to compensate DC for the opportunity to gain a few viewers(and possibly spenders). Or at LEAST ask...
GB should have NO expectation of making any money with his site.
DC probably feels sorry for him and lets him post here as sort of a public disservice...
Like HOW could NEFF NOT be included here:

Also let's not forget the spectacular GB Mag banner that is on top of the page occasionally. I'm pretty sure the beetle has paid his dues.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
New Guy has been a member under a different name for well over 5 years and probably longer if I cared to check- and this past year has given back quite a bit to fly tying organizations through my small outfit.
New guy isn't paying anyone for "the opportunity to gain a few viewers" in regards to posting, because it is the membership and posts which drive traffic to the site, and it is the traffic which enables dc to get people to pay to advertise on his website. New guy has contacted dc as far as paid advertising, and will participate in the future. Let's keep it all copacetic.

Re: Some recent flies from the vise
Hey these are the first 3 flies i have ever tied. Pretty sure I won't catch anything with them. I also don't have a camera to get those close up shots.
