Who plans to hunt turkeys this spring?

I'm starting to get the itch. I got both permits I applied for in NJ and will likely also make it up to NY state for a weekend to hunt Mr. Tom. I had a great spring last year and am hoping for the same this year. I went through my turkey vest and have all the calls out to practice as I drive down the road or when Mrs. Rusty Spinner is not home (nothing she hates more than my calling turkeys in the house). So, who else is with me? What states/areas? My NJ zone is 7. NY is near Cooperstown. I won't bother with Potter County, PA this year because poaching remains too big a problem and our turkeys are few and far between even though we have phenomenal habitat up that way.

Used to spend hours driving around w/a raspy cutter plastered to the roof of my mouth this time a year. This damn fishin thing has seemed to get in the way of all that.

Need to to get the kids out there though to hear their first gobble 10 yards away in dead calm woods from a bird that came outta nowhere...

That gets your adrenaline going! Last year was the first time I turkey hunted after my open heart surgery. My mechanical valve makes a slight ticking noise as it is, but as two big toms came in and attacked my jake decoy, I thought they could hear the damned thing because it was so loud! All I heard was CLICK, CLICK, CLICK.

New turkey virus impacts New York birds - Outdoor News - January 2015

Don't bother with NY. A complete waste of time. The turkeys that are left are now all mutants because of this virus... and it's transmitted to humans... weeping pustules cover your... well... stick to Jersey birds...

If I can get a left off tag when they go on sale, I'll be going - If not, I'll be fishin..
