Turkey opener in NJ today
A zone 7 dirt nap for this gobbler early this morning. I had 4 gobblers going nuts on their roost only to fly down across the road from me and shut up. It took 1 1/2 hours to bring them over, but when they did come, the 2 gobblers I called in were silent. This one stopped at 35 yards and is now dinner. Hope some of you guys are getting out there.

Re: Turkey opener in NJ today
Haha, thats right where I head up for the opener May 3. We are outside Canadarago Lake.
So pissed, this is the first year in many where I missed the NJ lottery and my zone is always the first to sell out. Theres tons of activity around this year too. Been seeing a nice flock near the house with a big old Tom and theres a bunch of single and double Jakes running around the woods here too. Now I gotta put all my eggs into the NY weekend basket.
Glad you had such a great start, Rusty!

Well unless you are catering to the South Jersey crowd, you better make those "crispy Taylor Ham sandwiches".
