Looking for feedback on SAGE VXP Rod

I would love to hear from NEFF members on their experience with Sage VXP. Looking to upgrade my old SLT to something faster, ideally in $500 range. Did not get a chance to go to the show this year to try to cast it and it will likely be a while to before I get to try it out. Please share if you have some experience with it. I am considering 9 or 9'6 5wt.

No one here fishes VXP, we only fish top-shelf. SLT was top shelf BTW, nice medium action rod, a lot like the B2X. VXP is nice, I've never cast one, but a couple of dudes whos judgement I trust say thumbs up. Why do you want a faster action rod? Do you need to cast further, into the wind, bigger water, pimp factor, etc? I can lay 60ft of line out with my 3wt. SLT easy, more if I really need to. No way I would ever sell it.

Roll up the windows Brian, you're letting the stank out.

Having owned both models, I'd say there is more in comparison between these two models in regard to taper and flex characteristics. Both, in my opinion, are progressive, medium-fast rods. Your rod might flex slightly deeper than the VXP but nothing drastically different. Of all the rods I've owned, the 3-weight SLT was the poorest performer when it came to roll casting.

You have to cast it. Anything else is a $500 gamble

Good question; I still like my SLT and can't complain about its performance for my purpose. It is 2 pc and I wanted to get a 4 pc and maybe give a diff action a try. Don't care to look good while casting, but can use extra help on windy days.

Thanks to to all that replied, good feedback so far.
