New Orvis Superfine Glass fly rods.

Cool video of the new glass fly rods from Orvis. Love that they went with unsanded blanks. Check it out

Re: New Orvis Superfine Glass fly rods.

I use the Orvis Superfine Series "Brook Trout" 4 wt for about 75% of my trout fishing whihc is on small - mid sized streams. I also have the predecessor "Tippet" rod from the 80's in a 3 wt. wich is a great Summer or limestone rod, and they are both great full-flex rods which I am a fan of. It will be interesting to see how the new glass rods compare to the current graphite series. Casting the current rods is as smooth as silk and I can detect the slightest wet fly or nymph take, and fish the tiniest of flies both dry and wet with 7x-8x tippet and strike and land good size trout in a reasonable amount of time. I have no problem fishing streamers with the 4 wt.

I have no intention of replacing these rods, but I would be curious to test the glass rods out - might change my mind.

That's one nice looking tiger in the end of the video.

Been thinking about getting a Superfine for a while. Gonna have to test one of these out before I make a decision..

Does it matter really. It's not like you could afford to buy it. You don't have a rich dad like beetle to take care of you

MySpace isn't publicly traded. That makes you a large no wait ginormous boob. You probably still have that beat up old z axis you tried to sell as new 2 years ago don't you.
