The wife and I hit a creek near the house for a little while. Needless to say, she caught all the big dollies. Didn't catch any rainbows, but we did spot one hanging at the tail out of a pool that didn't want a thing. Even put a flesh fly in front of it. No dice. Pretty soon her waders aren't going to fit over her stomach. Going to have to have Simms make some maternity waders.

Saw lots of kings spawning. Hopefully some silvers role in soon. Those will be fun on her 3wt.

Even Alaska gets a tube hatch.

    Alaska......

Hit the local creek with the wife after work today. All of the salmon are pretty much gone. Only a few ratty kings still lingering around. Hopefully some silvers start rolling in soon.

Ended up catching a bunch of dollies in the normal spots after we hiked up to see if anything was in the upper stretches. Needless to say, there was nothing in the upper stretches except bear and moose tracks.

    Alaska......

Headed down to the peninsula this morning with the wife to hit Quartz Creek for some dollies.

As soon as we got on the water we were into some fish. Always a good start.

Both of us were using 6mm beads and were into more fish than we could even remember.

There were tons of eggs in the water, especially with sockeye all over the place spawning.

We didn't get any huge dollies, but we got a bunch over 18" and a couple that broke the 20" mark. The few rainbows we hit were small for Kenai Peninsula standards, but they were still head shakes.

We even managed a double in the same run.

For someone who "Only goes fishing because you make me", she sure looks like she's enjoying herself. Don't let her fool you, she loves fishing. She was yelling at the fish every time one got off. There was a lot of yelling today, especially when the fish was a better fish.

Check out this colored up dolly.

After a long day on the water we stopped at the BBQ place to fuel up before heading home. It's a rough life, but someone has to do it.

    Re: Alaska......

Well...Hillery did so well on Friday she wanted to hit Quartz Creek again yesterday. We got a later start and got on the water around 12:30. Things started out slow, but picked up and we didn't end up leaving until around 9:30.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Last but not least is this slob that Hillery landed on a 3wt and 4lb leader!!!!!

Camping out on Skilak lake and then dragging the toon a mile to the Kenai for a two day float. Which means I will be camping along the bank some where. Kenai closes May 1st and opens back up in June after the rainbows spawn. Should be interesting to say the least. Hopefully I can find some fish willing to play.

Photobucket wanted me to pay them money to upgrade to unlimited bandwidth. So I had to create a new account. It said the bandwidth would reset in seven days. let me log in to see how many more days before it resets.

Should reset on the 22nd or 23rd.

That's ridiculous. I use flickr now. I'm not sure if they have the same bandwidth rules but if they do, you can always just use both and split the pictures up.

There are so many photo sharing sites out there.

    Re: Alaska......

Have you ever had one of those days, where no matter what you throw at them, you can't seem to buy a bite?
Well, this wasn't one of those days. In fact, it was one of the best days I have had fishing for bows. Between the two of us, we brought to hand, five bows that were 20"+. These weren't skinny fish either, they were footballs. These fish are eating well for sure. All fish were measured with a tape for complete scientific accuracy. I will shut up now, here is the porn.

    Grayling

    21" bow with 12.5" girth

    23" bow with 13" girth

    18" bow

    20" bow
