wawayanda creek
Hello, Im new to the forum and to the warwick ny area. Does anyone know of places to access wawayanda creek near warwick? It seems like most of the land around the creek is privately owned downstream of warwick.

Re: wawayanda creek
I know this is an older thread, but I live in Warwick and would love to find more access to the wawayanda as well as other area creeks. I love smallmouth fishing so places with smallies are a bonus!
Thanks
Johnny

Re: wawayanda creek
Do you live in Warwick? I found access in one spot that I've caught some nice smallies from a few holes I found. I'm guessing there has to be some other spots as well.
I didn't get into to any trout, but I didn't start fishing the creek until mid summer.

Re: wawayanda creek
If you Google NY tax maps, you should be able to find one for your area. Then just hover over the stream as you move along it on the map and take note of the various owners. You might find town-owned or other public lands. If you find a nice looking stretch on private land, contact the owners and ask for permission. Fishing permission is far easier to obtain than hunting. Just make sure to offer to pick up any trash you find and not leave any behind and that will go a long way. You also have a bunch of wild brook trout streams just over the border in West Milford, and some with good access.
