March 2012 Fly Swap. Favorite Streamers.

I was wondering if anyone might be interested in joining me in doing a fly swap. I've never done one before, but I thought that it would be a cool thing to participate in and shake off some of the winter doldrums. Like many other guys, I LOVE to tie and fish meaty streamers. Albeit extremely effective, I get so tired of Wooly Bugger, and like to experiment with other patterns. If anyone is interested, please PM me or reply. I was thinking we could make the deadline March 15^th. As per the flies themselves, I would say exclude simple woolly bugger, and maybe stay away from some of the hardcore Carrie Steven’s/Rangley patterns. (Good intermediate ties like hair wings, matukas, zonkers, etc) I would be happy to contribute one of my patterns, or something less commonly used these days like a Thunder Creek minnow or one of the lesser known classic Hair wings.

Hey, a quick clarification..... March of 2013. (Sorry I keep doing that). For the record, I do like woollies, I think there are more interesting patterns to tie. (Somebody should do a clouser!) I'll be happy to either facilitate the swap, or just participate. (I merely submitted the propoosal). If anyone wants to participate, let me know.

There are so many different ways to tie a clouser, somebody should tie them. I love Clousers!!!!!!! I love the Buggers, it's just that they are literally the first pattern everyone learns to tie.

I have participated in 2 swaps in the last year. I sent out 12 flies in both swaps. Did not get one fly back. Am I missing something? Is fly swap a secret code for I have no flies and I am too cheap to buy them? So if I get 11 fools to send flies, I should be good for awhile.
