March 2012 Fly Swap. Favorite Streamers.

I was wondering if anyone might be interested in joining me in doing a fly swap. I've never done one before, but I thought that it would be a cool thing to participate in and shake off some of the winter doldrums. Like many other guys, I LOVE to tie and fish meaty streamers. Albeit extremely effective, I get so tired of Wooly Bugger, and like to experiment with other patterns. If anyone is interested, please PM me or reply. I was thinking we could make the deadline March 15th. As per the flies themselves, I would say exclude simple woolly bugger, and maybe stay away from some of the hardcore Carrie Stevenís/Rangley patterns. (Good intermediate ties like hair wings, matukas, zonkers, etc) I would be happy to contribute one of my patterns, or something less commonly used these days like a Thunder Creek minnow or one of the lesser known classic Hair wings.

I wouldn't exclude buggers for 2 simple reasons. 1 hands down its the deadliest streamer ever made. 2. It's a simple tie that beginners can handle, that can be tied in a million ways.

I concur, mostly since thats the only real streamer pattern i have down pat.

I'd give the clouser that designation personally. Would clouser's be excluded as well?

I'm on the fence with this one...got some tying conflicts going on right now

Just a suggestion but, whether you allow woolies or not i think the swap will be much more successful if you shoot for 2013.

I don't think Walter H. has earned enough NEFF capital in his 42 posts to run a fly swap.
