    Re: Orvis Sonic Weld Technology

By the way, two pair of sonic pros at $280 a pair come to $560. And you cant say they breathe just like Simms when you never wore them for a day of fishing and cant compare them to a gore tex wader.

Have both Simms and Sonic Pro zip fronts have to say the Sonic pros are the shit ! Take a beating and still keep me dry, my Simms are leaking around the ankle in the weak point where the boot meets the leg. We'll see what 2 years straight of fishing every day does to the Redingtons so far so good.

Eagle claw, Zebco, whatever they are all the same. And yes you are correct that there are imitators out there. Sort of like there are a lot of other graphite rod companies out there making rods just like Sage, Loomis, Winston because they use graphite also.

Gore-Tex is expensive stuff hence the price..I bought Orvis waders not knowing they are made in China..that so far is the only negative thing I can say about them..I fish at least two days a week and no problems yet..although I have been wet wading all summer long..I also hear Simms are the best products on the market, but I just can't get past the price tag....

    Re: Orvis Sonic Weld Technology

The Simms leaked after two years and I have sent them in and have been repair at no cost . My Sonic pros carry the same guaranty and do cost about 1/3 less than Simms and from comparison they are as good as any Simms product out there.I might add that I have worn them in the heat and as far as moisture transfer they work very well. This is how I see it as I get out fishing nearly every fishable day of the year and wear my waders a lot..

But then again with a drift boat loaded with a T&T and Sage loaded with wulff triangle tapers and all the flies you could want , why would you need waders anyway..

Liar! You did not wear waders the day i was with you. I was the only one manly enough to do so.

Im not saying other companies dont make good waders my Bean waders are fine. But they are hotter and its noticeable. That is the only draw back. But if i sweat it does not make for good pictures and as you know, to look good is to fish good

    What Simms do you have?

    Re: Orvis Sonic Weld Technology

Sorry WB no need for waders when you are on the ship and the water is close to 60 degrees. But when I am wade fishing which is more often than not I put on the waders as I don't like ticks ,bees, snakes or briers all of which my Sonic pros have fended off perfectly .. Not to mention a bear attack or two..
