Re: Upper Delaware River Public Access Could Get Better
I saw this on the facebook page and my first thought was, Great! Then I thought again and it seems to me it might not be so great. Just bringing more people to fish my spots. How about taking the $125,000 and pay for some more water! That ought to get us a good release for a few hours.

The money went to Sullivan County. As I'm sure you know, but for the benefit of those that don't, Sullivan County borders the river from roughly Long Eddy down to the Mongaup River.
$125K doesn't go too far... I'm also guessing the accesses, if any, would be downriver of Skinners. Keep in mind the money can be used to improve accesses, not necessarily create new ones.

With the exception of the new boat launch ramp in NY in the upper no-kill, NY has the worst access sites on the river. Say what you will about PA, their access sites are far better than NY's

I for one love the shitty access. It forces people to work, walk, and not be lazy, which is the exact opposite of what most people are.
Roll up the windows Brian, you're letting the stank out.

I'm with you on that TN you can get creative with the access up there and find some nice lesser fished water if you know your way around..., I like the boat but it isnt the better way to go on times when its windy, when hatches are very good and you don't need to cover water, spooky borderline floating flows, ect. A lot of guys are obsessed with the boat thing and won't wade fish once they own one (though they will put the waders on to still feel like theyre still flyfishing in a river and never get out of the boat during the course of the day). To get the best of both worlds I now break up my floats by tying the boat in the weeds/around trees, ect and find creative ways in/out to get back to my boat. This way I don't rush on shorter broken up floats but still can fish to the deeper areas that wading can be tough in. Just gotta make sure you're the last one off/first one on to avoid getting robbed
