One-year renewal of current reservoir operating plan agreement

New York State, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and the City of New York today announced that they have unanimously agreed to a one-year extension of the current Flexible Flow Management Program (FFMP) intended to meet water supply demands, protect fisheries habitat downstream of the New York City (NYC)-Delaware Basin reservoirs, enhance flood mitigation, and repel the upstream movement of salt water in the Delaware Estuary.

I agree -- If you post too much useful information on this site you get attacked for no reason dragged through the mud beat up and then shot in the leg so the torture can be on going -- LMFAO

Thank You JoeD for posting this -- It is good to see that for at least 1 more year the Delaware will have water -- Why not make this a LONG TERM DEAL say 100 years and then the tax payers dollars wouldn't have to keep paying politicians to keep doing the CORRECT thing to do in the 1st place. Man Politics really do suck and politicians are what make politics suck -- Kind of like a viscious circle if you really think about it

Re: One-year renewal of current reservoir operating plan agreement

    Hi,

The push was to keep this a one yeear extension to allow for more time to continue to improve the plan.

If this was locked in for 3 or 5 years it would have been difficult to improve the plan in a couple of areas.

The great news is that reports keep coming in about how great the fishing has been this year, so I think we are headed in the right direction.

One has to understand the process to understand the significance of the news, eh?

    Thanks Jim.

who cares about all those wankers in NYC and their damn water! Keep it flowing to keep the fish healthy. Besides, in the last 10 years 3.4 million have left the state. That's more water for the fish! Now if we could just figure out how to make NYC fall into the ocean....

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
