Fly line advice - Maintenance and Replacement

So how do I know when to replace my fly line? I've been doing a lot of river bank fishing and my fly line ends up on the ground etc. I know I'm rough on it and I'm getting better but I know I've probably chewed it up a little. It's like I can tell its dragging in the guides

Can I clean it, or wax it or what? Whats the best thing to do. In the meantime I'm working on not stepping on it.

Just clean it with soap and water and apply some fly line dressing. Dressing is available at your local fly shop.

I remember back in the day when a double tapper line cost $12.00 and they included a fly fishing tip handbook and fly dressing. Today a line cost $70.00 and they don't give you shit.

check the coating for cracks, or rough spots. When it starts to crack that is when i change mine. There is a site sponser here. Allen flyfishing Co. i have heard good things about their lines and they are very reasonable. Give them a try
