Be thankful you have parents to receive sweaters from . Good for you. This will be my first Christmas without at least one parent...and it really sucks......not trying to be condescending...just saying. Cherish every sweater you get. Merry Christmas.

Gee Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night?

I wasn't complaining about my parents, I was just trying to be funny. I know how lucky I am to have parents and at this point in my life I want nothing more from them than their presence. Sorry to hear about your parents, may they rest in peace.

Merry Christmas to you and yours

Re: Top Five Christmas Gifts Growing Up

To me there was only one Christmas as a child that mattered.

My aunt (my mother's sister) and her husband (they had no children of their own but us) drove through a blizzard Christmas eve when I was 12 to be with us like every year.

Because I said to her it wouldn't be Christmas without them.

Even to this day it was still the best Christmas.

Not to take away from your touching childhood memory, but horse travel back then was VERY safe. Those beasts hardly ever wipe out on the road...

(you should see them negotiate the sides of the caldera...)

My best Christmas Present was my first shot gun. I was 12 at the time. I was like Ralphie in A Christmas Story

How old are you? H&R's made a big comeback in the last 20 years. I recently bought my son as his first gun an Ithaca model 66 12 Ga., which is a single shot gun. a very unforgiving way to shoot.......

I am 46 now. I had to learn to become a proficient shot with that gun, I had one shot to hit the Pheasant. I equate it to learning to drive wit a stick shift rather then a automatic. It is the best way to learn

Re: Top Five Christmas Gifts Growing Up

Once again had to bring this thread back. My 6 year old twins are in the final stages of Christmas freakout. They literally canít stop talking about Christmas. My son has requested some pretty cool stuff from Santa. An assortment of nerf weapons which will invariably lead to long game of special ops. Heís getting smarter now. He even requested night vision gear

What, no official Red Ryder carbine-action 200 shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock?
