Johnhancock
I am not much for sports even more so sports memorabilia. Some people collect autographed basseballs and autographed baseball cards. Although I would not shy away from an autographed hockey stick from Decarbinator.
I prefer to collect autographs of some of the finest fly fisherman and authors. With the exception of fly fishing I once got a letter of commemeration on my service to this country from a guy that is good at picking up chicks.
So below I have posted some of the Autographs or John Hancocks that I have collected. All of these periodicals/books listed below I suggest other NEFF members check out if you dont have them already. Also feel welcome to share some of your memorabilia.
Rick Kustick author of Reflections on the Water and Fly Fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead.
The Figure Skater straight from Rick Kustich vise.
An autographed copy of Tying the Esoxulator by Steven C. Washer the reason I still attend the Fly fishing show in N.J..
Did I mention he ties some mean flies!
Matthew Grobert Fly Firshing New Jersey Trout Streams. Various members of NEFF contributed photos to this book. It an excellent read my favorite part of the book are the illustration of Matts ties.
Tying Catskill Style Dry Flies by Mike Valla a must read for anyone that has fished or fishes the Catskills. When I met Mike he many excellent stories to share I can only hope our paths cross again some day.
March/April 2010 issue "American Angler" "The Catskill Circuit" by Daniel Ansbarch. To be honest i have yet to read this article only because I am too excited about it! I cant sit still long enough to read it..
I had the pleasure of meeting Dan at fly fest and he ties some mean flies!

And one day I will be able to attest to the authenticity of Dan's (AKA - Bkill) signature as I was there. Good running into you the other day at the fly shop.

Re: Johnhancock
Very nice, I also like getting their autographs. I stopped at Dettes years ago with his
book in hand. I got Mary's but she said Walt was out in town somewhere, so I said thanks and left. So I was getting in my car when Walt pulled in the driveway, so I jumped out and introduced myself. He then gave me his John Hancock and we threw the bull for a few minutes. I left saying, "there is a God".

Re: Johnhancock
I have a large collection of books, several of which bear autographs of long-passed authors. Among these are Sparse Grey Hackle, Arnold Gingrich, Lee Wulff, Charles Ritz, Ray Bergman and Randall Kaufmann. I also have a signed presentation copy (with flies) of The Dettes, a Catskill Legend. There are others which don't come to mind at this time. If any of these interest you, let me know.
