new book on rainbows and stocking

Hi, all. I am an infrequent poster, but I thought some of you might find a new book interesting: An Entirely Synthetic Fish: How Rainbow Trout Beguiled America and Overran the World, by Anders Halverson. I stumbled into this article about the content (One Strange Fish Tale - The Chronicle Review - The Chronicle of Higher Education) and think it may provoke interesting discussion in a forum like this. I am not the author and have nothing to gain from sales or your interest, nor do I have a firm position on whether stocking is good or bad.

Thanks for all of the insight you share on this board.

Are the books written on a third grade level so i can comprehend them? Are they offered on tape as well, preferably 8-track?

Sorry, published by Yale Univ Press, so I doubt it.

Well somebody at Yale does not have all the facts. In paragraph six it states that the rainbow can withstand warmer temperatures and lower water quality. In fact the brown trout can survive higher water tempertures and lower quality than the rainbow.
