    Lake George

Looking for anyone with any info on a cabin/cottage rental on Lake George for July 2010. Our party consists of a family of four and a family of five, so one large cabin or two smaller cabins would work, preferrably on the lake.

Not on the lake, but a short walk with access.
    Pontier/Miller Cottage

Looks like July isn't booked yet...

It only sleeps six, but there are other rentals in the same area. You could ask the owners for a referral.

BTW: I always found better fishing in the spring, before the lakers and salmon go too deep for flyfishing, (May or early June at the latest). Smallmouths will still be around in July.

Disclaimer: The owners are my cousins, I may be biased.

Thanks Pete. I just sent them an inquiry email.

Wrong time of year for the lake, unless you're into downriggers. Downriggers were invented for people who don't really fish, but enjoy riding around in a boat.

You might find some smallmouths or Pike within reach of a fast sinking line... Try smelt or whitefish imitations.

Back in the day... If storms made the lake dangerous, I sometimes went to Northwest Bay Brook or Sucker Brook. I don't have a clue how they would be in August.

    Re: Lake George

I agree with the downrigger guided trips. I am no where to go expert but I have experienced some of the best smallmouth fishing anywhere in Lake George. I went in the fall season.
