Re: Response to more Hyde problems

    Amen !!
Having fished numerous times with Chris you could see he is very proud of his Hyde drift boat from day one and I must addmit he dose take really good care of it and always has good things to say about her so much so you would have thought he was a sales rep. for Hyde. I'm shure they will do the right thing. As these young men have given their time for us and our country!! As well as being a catalyst for the sport and drift boat sales with out these guy's the sport and drift boat sales would be dwindling.

Chris from Hyde, glad to see you have responded and are willing to take corrective actions to resolve this issue.

I will with hold my post retractions till the matter is cleared up, you'll understand that.

The main thing is that you and your company are going to take corrective actions to rectify this problem. That is paramount in my book.

I am sure you may have reviewed CTobias' posts on the Salmon River Report 2008 with more than 20,400 views in the past 7 months or so, and his boat is prominently displayed in many of the articles in conditions during the summer, fall, winter, and now the dead of winter catching and releasing fish.

Yes, conditions on the Salmon River are perhaps the toughest in the country and a sports fisherman such as CTobias, is out on the water all the time. As stated he is a sports fisherman, not a professional guide. The people you see in his Hyde Drift boat are not clients, he charges no one and doesn't take any gift in return for taking them out on the river. I know, been on his boat a few times.

CTobias is an Iraq veteran, like all military personnel away from home you cling to things that keep you going day in and day out while in a combat zone.

Christopher clung to his dream of that drift boat and fishing the Salmon River. Before he ever purchased it, he knew every detail of that boat from stem to stern, he looked at others, but it was THAT Hyde boat he was going to get upon his return home.

This isn't just a drift boat and problem with the bottom, it is much more.

I trust you and Hyde will do the right thing.

Re: More HYDE problems!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

One just has to look at the number of fisherman that visit this site everyday to see just how powerful our words are.

One member had his drift boat stolen up on the Delaware River.

    Gone.

His father is a Police Detective in a large city, and his words were it was gone. Little to no chance of ever seeing that boat again.

A side from the financial out lay for the boat, can you just imagine him in a year or two going to his wife and saying he wants to buy another drift boat? WHOAAAaaaa......

But because it was posted on here, the member's.. ALL OF US TOGETHER... through just our words on here, the ever watchful eye, word of mouth, interest in him recovering his drift boat, his boat was magically was found in short order.

I thought highly of the person who found the boat. A fly shop owner and guide, I posted that his presentation on fishing the Delaware River was outstanding at the Fly Fishing Show just months before, and still believe so. I been in his shop and spent money, have his DVD...

But I also have to admit that I saw him at the recent Fly Tying and Fishing Shows and his so called "Finding the boat and keeping it safe in his back yard till he found the rightful owner" too much to believe. He is no less a thief. Everytime I see him that is all I see.

I had a problem with my Korkers wading boots with the bottoms not staying on. I send emails and nothing. I sent the boots to the factory and still no word. I posted here and Korkers took care of the problem. Not a major thing in my life, but because they did take care of it, I am one of their greatest supports of their product.

The same goes for Abel Reels.. just a couple of weeks ago I wrote about them sending me some locking screws for my reels as a back up. Now the amount of money I spent on those five reels (I'll let you do the dollar calculations) was worth every single cent because they sent me some locking screws? A cost of $1.29 max, but that isn't the point... Jeff at Abel did what he said he would.

Lastly.... since I have been on this board.... who do I love....

    That would be nice.

But in reality, I believe that he would just settle for a bottom for his boat.

Either way, he would make a good poster child for their product.

Live hard, fish hard, and the only thing that can stand up to Christopher Tobias... is a HYDE.

Re: More HYDE problems!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

Just got off the phone with a Hyde rep. Things are looking good! I didn't mean to come across that Hyde is a bad company, because they do make great boats. I in no way intended to bash Hyde. But, as most of you may know I paid for my boat on my own with my deployment money, so not hearing anything from them kind of erked me a little. Hopefully all goes well and everything gets back to tight lines and screaming reels!

Not to mention my mishaps with T&T... Went months upon months waiting for them to resolve my problem. I finally got tired of waiting, posted photo's and a story about the ordeal, called T&T and sent them the link. In a matter of seconds, UPS was knocking on my door with new rods and a phone call from the owner of T&T to apologize.

Re: More HYDE problems!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

Having been one of the many recipients of multiple days drifting down the salmon river via your rowing, i very much hope that Hyde comes thru with an adequite fix for your situation. customer focus should be a top priority for companies and i hope Hyde strives to excel in that category.

this board is full of questions on gear and suggestions by those people who test and use the specific products. that is one of the biggest benefits of a public forum as this. with the amount of friends you have on the board, on the river, and take out each and every week; simply having your positive reinforcement for Hyde products would speak wonders for people looking to purchase a boat in the future. how can you put a price on unsolicited advertising and compliments from such a well respected, real-user of a product.

i look forward to seeing the outcome. Chris@hyde it is always great to have a representative speak up for their products in a public venue, especially when dealing with a specific issue.

    Got it figured out

    Chris and those watching,
I've got it worked out to get you a new boat delivered the first part of March. If I could get a little gas money from you that would help me look good around the office.

The boat I would like to send out there is an aluminum with the UHMW shoe. Like I mentioned in a previous post there are a few rivers in the country that are extra rough on boats. The Salmon is one of them. I don't think there is a total bombproof solution for that river, but in my opinion the aluminum w/shoe is the best option.

I am pretty sure Jim gave you a call this morning to get the details figured out. Feel free to give him or myself a call. Talk to you soon.

Re: More HYDE problems!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

So, most of you have probably forgotten about my problems with my G4 bottom on my Hyde. WELL! Hyde is in the process of building me a BRAND NEW aluminum boat to replace the one I have. I will be talking with them to iron out the details in the morning. All I can say is AMAZING! I have never encountered such great customer service. Talk about talking care of the consumer! I am more than happy with this out come, and the boat should be here early next month when they drop off the boats for the boat show in Michigan. I'll tell you what, if you are considering buying a drift boat you can't go wrong with the quality and customer service of Hyde. Show me another company that will go to those lengths to take care of their customer!
