    Perfect day to get out..

Saturday seems like it will be the perfect day to get out on the river. Supposed to be in the 40s. Went down to the section of North Branch across the street from my house today to see its condition and it seems very cold (no ice), but still fishable. I'll probably go there for a little, if my feet let me (just had surgery on them about an hour ago, should be back to normal tomorrow). Anybody have any recommendations for the flies I should use? I don't have a very big collection, I'll show you which ones I have (don't know the names of them)..

Well that's not a great pic is it? Hmm.. well I know the big ones are Wooly Buggers and I have been told that is the best thing to use right now. Now if only I knew what color (olive and black is all I have)...

Good luck Saturday. If you don't catch anything it is still a good time of year to sharpen your casting skills. Try some beadhead nymphs too.

    Dan,
you get anything on the n branch. I wanted to go so bad, i work down the street in bvilleand these guys came in out of powerbait they said there were flies coming off like crazy and fish eating them up like crazy. they already had a rainbow to each of there name, they also told me even though they fish bait there all catch and release and there were a ton still in from the late fall stocking, next time its warm im there, caught nothing on sun. on the wild streams got one hit though, it was cold, i missed my chance...

Alright thanks Rob, but the section of the North Branch near my house wasn't stocked in the fall as far as I know. I think it was only stocked last spring but I'll have to check into that.
