    Question Flyfishing Scotland

    Anyone ever fish in Scotland?
I have an opportunity to go the first week of Feb. and fish for Salmon. Brown trout season doesn't start until mid March.

Never have, but have always wanted to. Been to Scotland though. Beautiful place in the summer time. I was in Edinbourough working an International Jazz Festival and it never really got dark all night, so the people just kept partying all night long. We ended up at a Jam Session alllllll night in our hotel (festival host hotel), lounge sponsered by Heinakin Beer. What a gas. I've still got the T-Shirts i bought there that night, in 1989. mark

    Mark,
    Sounds like fun.
The Tay river is about 90 minutes north of Edinburgh.
I wish it was Brown trout season but I'll have to settle for Atlantics and Rainbows. Oh well

    Cool Edinburgh

BIG FUN! Good luck and have the time of your life. Hope you catch a ton of fish. Man, when i think of allllllllllllllllll the places i been, and never had a chance to fish any of them when i was working. Cats used to crack up and ask me what the hell i was doing all the time staring at the rivers. LOL. I almost ran off the road a few times....lol. In Europe it was amazing, all the rivers i used to see day in and day out sometimes. You could just tell how full of fish they had to be, LOL. But alas no time..........oh well. mark p.s. so that's how you spell it, Edinburgh, cool.

Jon, i know a guy.......ex-president of TGF who has been to Scotland to fly fish a few times. I think a lot of it was on Lochs (Lakes) though. I just reminded myself of the hotel in Montrauex, Switzerland, the Hotel Du Loch, NICE hotel. Boy what a gig that was every year. We played in a huge casino, right down the street (walking distance) from the hotel. Anyway, i can try to get his mumber for you, if you like? His name is David Berman. mark

Actually Jon, what you wanna do is get ahold of Lesly Crawford. She's like the Joan Wulff of Scotland, more or less, lol. She was a special guest of my wife's team, Team Japan at the International Fly Fishing Championship and Conservation Symposium in France last year. She's the number one guide in Scotland, and has written books on it blah blah blah, lol. She's really nice too, you'll love her. Try going to my wife's site and see if you can navigate somehow to her. www.wffj.org and meantime i'll see if i can get her email. Actually i think i have it in/on my "contacts list" at one of my hotmail addies. I'll look for it and let you know. later, mark
