    Lightbulb To the Board

Would some one be so kind to spread the word on NJTrout that we are having another fly swap and that they are invited to join if they want to.

    Thanks

I have been seeing alot of talk about this over the last few days.

    What actually is it?

Do you guys meet up, or by the post seems as if you are mailing flys around?

I have found it very exciting to look at these fly photos, but am truly lost on the "fly swap"

    Hi Jcw3:

    Ok let's start:

If you go take a look at the December Swap thread, I list a set of criteria like what kind of swap it is like dry fly's or streamers or wet fly's. In the case of December it is Catskill Style fly's. I then tell all who read the thread how many people will be allowed in the swap. Getting into the swap is easy. Just state you want to be in the swap and what you are going to tye. The cut off limit is set by me and to get into the swap is on a first come first serve basis. I then list in the thread the day the fly's need to be sent to my address. After that when all the fly's are received by all paricipants I then sort the flies and mail them out to everyone.

If you are following so far, good. What hapens in the December swap is lets say you get in the swap and tye 12 BWO's. You send the fly's to me. I then will send you back twelve flies one fly from each participant. You then will have 12 completley different fly's. You will never get your own fly back unless a swap member due to life's happens drops out. Keep in mind if the swap has only six people then you only have to tye five flys. If the swap has thirteen people then you have to tye twelve fly's. I hope this helps.
