TU will be one of several organizations working with federal agencies to remove the lower 4 dams on the Musconetcong River in northwest
NJ. On Tuesday, December 2nd there will be a public meeting (see below for details). This meeting and a second to follow which will encapsulate the issues raised in the first meeting are designed to solicit outside opinions and to raise awareness of the effects of these 4 large dams on the lower river. Because federal funding is to be used for any removal and/or restoration work in the stretch between Bloomsbury Dam and the Finesville Dam (1st dam upstream of D), this public meeting is required.
Please come out in support of dam removals and restoration for the lower Musky - this will make the river a fabulous fishery and open up fish passage not just for trout, but shad, eels, river herring and possibly stripers for many miles upstream.
