Egg Tool
I started tying a few months ago and just tied up egg patterns the traditional way and then I came across a tube tool to make it easier. Instead of buying one I cut a Bic pen in half and used that.
They are alot faster and come out nicer with a blood spot on each side. It also makes it nice and round all the way around the hook. I was tying them the traditional wasteful way. I used a strand on the bottom and 3 on the top. This makes a nice round egg but takes more time.
I used 3 strands with a blood strand in the middle of the three then threaded it into the Bic. Pull a little out of the end and tie it on with a figure eight, wip finish, then cut the material. (leave extra at the end of the tube to tie the next egg) You tie these looking at the vice straight on not from the side.
As you can see the first ones blood spot isnt any good but the rest I really like. Using 4 strands you can make about 3 different sizes of eggs.
Hope this might help someone and save them a little $$ for more materials
