  Not Ranked : 0 "Shangs Favorite" A pattern named for Shang Wheeler of Stratford CT. He was a close friend of the Stevens and the man responsible for several of the names of her streamers. The Gray Ghost was his choice for the streamer Carrie had tied and originally named Shangs Go Getum. Mr Wheeler was also a State Senator form Stratford and a Champion Decoy carver. On some misty mornings at UpperDam pool you can see him casting streamers. I tied this fly yesterday, and perhaps this fall when its cast into the waters of UpperDam I may feel the pull of a great salmon or Brook trout.    |
