had i paid $100 i'd be pissed. i have 3 of them. it seems that they are more succeptable to damage; i've nicked one. they do seem to shoot line better, and they are noisy. you don't notice the noise much, and i think it gets quieter when wet. i think they may shoot well because they are a 1/2 wt heavier. the sharkskin is very similar in texture to the orvis gen3 wonderline. all 3 of these lines become sink-tips after an hour or so. strange.
