DIY Tying Station Builder Advice?

Hi All,
this is my first post here so I hope I'm not asking for too much...
I'm just getting back into fly fishing & tying from my homestead in Bucks County PA along the Delaware River just above the Trenton falls.
I've been working like a gypsy with my vice clamped to a hunk of plywood and a copy-paper box stuffed with zip-lock bags and small plastic cases, but now I have a bit of space to set up a fly tying station. I've seen some amazing looking commercially-built stations and add-ons, but mine will be a DIY project, aiming for functional, nothing fancy, but with room to expand.

So, I'm looking for a few pointers from those of you who have been down this road and are willing to share your thoughts and perhaps share a snapshot of your tying station.

If you oblige my inquisition, would you please add what feature you like about your tying station and what you would do differently if you had the chance to design it again?
Also, and more specifically, I suppose I'd also like to know:
how much clear space you prefer as a table top?
what do you find should be in reach?
I'd welcome any other ideas you might have.

Thank you in advance for your reply. I'm looking forward to crossing paths (not lines!) with those in the area.
Cheers!
Wayne
