New guy looking for some advice

I know this is a broad question, but I am hoping to make it up to the northeast this fall for some fall colors and of course fly fishing. I was wondering about when the colors usually begin to change and hit the peak. Also, while in the area, I wanted to get in some good trout fishing. I have decent experience, but still enjoy catching trout with some consistentsy rather than great quality and fewer trout. Also prefer smaller streams rather than rivers. Simply what I know how to fish the best, only reason. I am open to anywhere that is pretty. Haven't been up in this area yet, so I am looking forward to coming. I don't mind doing some research on my own, I realize this is a very open question, so if anyone has places for me to look up info on these questions that would be great also. Thanks.
