caskill fishing this weekend Fished from thursday to monday this weekend and observed the definate change from spring to summer. Now fishing in the day is almost a waste of time and staying late is important. Fished the willow on friday night and did well catching several nice fish on cahils. Saturday evening i fished shehawken and found that it was very dead. Joe T was that you who me and my father met by the way the man we met talked about the neversink and the missouri river i realized later that night it may have been you. I went back to sheehawken sunday night and found it a diferent story.Sulphers were everywhere and me and my father both caught 4 fish each all fish were between 16-22 inches. An important thing to remember is to get a fly that is durable and floats well bcasue in the dark you dont want to be messing with your fly you just want to get it out their. Both sulphers and light cahils like moving water so its important to have a little riffle or movement where you are fishing. Monday night to conlclude the trip we ended in carins. CHales manson was their but left early around 830 and we had the pool to ourselves. THe cahil hatch was again tremendous. my dad got a bad tangle and left me to fish all by myself and it was almost so many fish i couldnt concentrate. Ended up with more fish than i could count one was a monster exceding 20 inches. It was so good i almost coaxed my dad into stayin another day but he wouldnt do it. If you plan on fishing make sure you stay well into dark becasue if you leave early your missing the best fishing of the summer. The fish aer not selective and the big ones come out in huge numbers. GEt out their and you will surely catch fish.
