| Beaverkill tid-bits On Wednesday was taking a break from fishing at the Hendrickson Pool on the Beaverkill and the hatchery truck pulled up - thought I was back in NJ for a moment. Anyway they proceeded to stock about 100+ browns 6-7". The CO that was with the truck told me that a lot of the radio tagged trout put in the Beaverkill this year have been eaten by Mergansers (didn't know they ate trout but I guess we can add them to the list of herons, ospreys, mink, otters etc). Was also told that this was the last stocking for the year. Caught about a dozen of those stockies within 45 mins of the truck leaving and gave up - couldn't get a fly past those stockies in search of bigger fish.  |
