Damn i need to repair my leaky waders. Unfortunately I can't seem to commit to not fishing for 3 days while my waders/ glue dries. Oh well, such is the life of a fly fishing junkie.
Anyway, about the fishing. Air was damn cold with a kickin wind, water was a little warmer (sorry, I dont carry a themometer). Fished from 5:15pm to 8:00, no surface activity and only two midges seen. Started using a #14 hendrickson with a #14 hendickson nymph tied below. Decided this wasn't getting my nymph nearly deep enough. Took off the dry and fished without an indicator such that my fly was really hugging the bottom. Worked better than the above, but not great. Managed 1 small wild brown and was too slow on another take.
Not a great day, but I'd rather catch one of these small wild fish than a dozen of the states mutants. A beautiful stretch of river and I thank dennis for the directions.
BTW: approximately how long is the TCA section in this area?
