To make a long story short i broke my rod tip a few days ago but it wasn't bad,i just broke through the Epoxy while i was walking and hit the ground try to catch my fleece before it fell into a puddle of water.I got it repaired by a local Sport Shop and asked the person who fixed it "when will i be able to fish"they replied 20-30 mins!Anyway i went fishing 2 hours later and after catching a few fish i noticed my rod tip was spinning but still connected to the blank,i stopped fishing and when back and they were closed.I went back today and got it fixed with no problems but it was fixed the same way but i told the person to put glue in the rod tip tube and it was done.A few hours later i was thinking about it and then asked myself ok if it happened before them maybe it will happen again.I took out my Loomis rod and checked out the Rod Tip and noticed it has Epoxy on the edge of the blank and the rod tip.I went down to Rays and like i expected got good insight!I told a fellow "RON" about my little mishappening and told him it was repaired and then the tip started spinning,he asked what did they use and i told him and he said"No Epoxy" i said no and he said really! He said you need Epoxy! So i bought it and was wondering what you guys think?I'm not rod builder but know the glue didn't help the first time and i'm now thinking of applying the Epoxy i purchased!Dennis i know your father builds rod so i was hoping you can find out if i should put the expoxy on?Anyone's help will be greatful. |
