Hey Dennis Dennis:
Cleaned the fly rod and then polished it. Your father won't believe his eyes how pretty the rod now looks. Cleaned up the rod tube and again what a diff. I like the rod and it will serve me well. Was at the KLG on 12/31 at 07:00 AM. Had the KLG to my self up to 11:00 AM Caught one fiesty brown around 9 inch and LDR'D 4 more. Around noon to the 3:00 PM range other's started to arrive and fish. I left due to being spoiled of having all this water for awhile to myself. I love the KLG and it has been my home water for years. I love the catskills and PA waters as well. But when I really do not have the time or want to drive far this place is for me. I found three Woolly bugger paterns that worked: 1) black 2) Olive and the 3rd of my own creation is black marabou tail with three strands of crystal flash and body wrapped with and olive black crystal chenille I bought from Harry's. The Hackle used was black. I found the buggers when fished nice and slow worked well. I received good taps when the trout initially hit. All in all It was a good day on the KLG. The rod I bought from your dad was good. I laughed while cleaning it due to finding a size 20 dead hendrickson pressed on the fly rod like it was a sticker. Your father took good care of the rod. Question was he planning on getting a new one. Anyway I hope to see you at the January show in Somerset. You know the deal. Stop by the Guild and say hello. Your a member so hang around if you want. Also let me know if you do not receive a monthly paper on the next guild meeting. Take Care.
