As someone who got NJTU's Trout in The Classroom (TIC) program stared and now up to more than 90 tanks state-wide, I see a different side of the issue. Those kids aren't really more interested in their X Boxes/Game Boys, it's we as parents who are less interested in being involved in their lives. I've seen firsthand how all our 10,000 plus TIC students react when we take them on field trips or teach them about the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship. These kids are responding and in a big way. Most simply do not get the chance and programs like these would go a long way to better stewardship of our environment.

Most of you know the program, but as an FYI we have yet to receive a single complaint from a parent/guardian and with more than 10K kids out there this year and roughly 8K last, we have to have had some PETA kids go through the program so far. To me, it's all about the curriculum. Keep it science based and it will be hard to attack.
