Sage builds the best rods on the market IMO, but they need to stop passing the crack pipe with the price they want for the One Elite ($1295). Who needs 2 tips anyway for a graphite rod? Are they different flexes? This angler certainly can't afford anything near that price point!

We are all pretty much fanatics about fly fishing and need our heads examined but,............anybody who
spends $1295 on a rod is really gone. There are plenty of $200-$400 rods IMHO that will perform just as well.

UNfortunately..I am a Gloomis guy....for single handers.I do however like the Sage Z Axis rods i have cast.I do not however like the Gloomis NRX colors that were first introduced, thank god they changed them to a greenish blank.I am a huge fan of GLX where distance is needed or wind.Regularly though i prefer the GL3 works for me just wish they had 11' and 10' ,4/5/6 weight rods also i detest the fact that Gloomis does not offer rod blanks anymore.

I also would like to inquire where this Trident Fly is located? ie: state/ town?

    Re: Sage 2013 Rods

Well there must be alot of people out there who are really gone. Based on what I've seen on the upper Delaware alone, people will buy $500 reels, $3000 bamboo rods, $600 waders, and $200 glasses. Is it really a stretch to think someone will spend $1200 on a graphite rod? Sage will sell every one that they make.

Roll up the windows Brian, you're letting the stank out.

Im guessing you spend 3000 bucks every year on beer alone, Spinner.

If you were able to mooch just half of those beers, that'd free up all the cash you'd need for the Sage One Elite.

$295 for the ENTRY level rod!!!!! (ouch!) topping out at $1,295 (ooofaa) They are nice for souless pieces of plastic and pencil but for those prices I'll stick with bamboo.

Not me, I had to give up drinking for a medical condition

The good news is my liver is just fine and if they can fix my stomach, then it's back to drinking my Sage One every year

    Re: Sage 2013 Rods

    DC, Pete,
Thanks for looking i apologize for being lazy. I cannot see a 700 + rod in my future unless it is Bamboo. I am guilty of enduldging in Gear Collectiveitis... i own three Billy Pate Bonefish Ar reels,a slew of rods an about$40,000 in flytying supplies/books/videos/dvds,not to mention a pontoon boat and all the other gear bags .Its an illness for me.I will only be buying stuff that needs replaced like hooks, dubbing tippet, leaders lines for now.
Besides next year it will be the SAge#2 rod an the year after that the Sage #1+2=3 rod ect.
Like i posted earlier in another post its funny all these rod companies were after the fastest stick now they are going back to what really matters in a rod...Feeling.

BTW by spending that much on something i dearly love makes me no better no less than any other person that enjoys this port an all that goes with it.
