A good friend and Sgt. of the St Vincent's Hospital Public Saftey and I floated the lower Swift today. Since Monday, the boys at Quabbin cranked the flows up which made floating much easier. Some minor blow downs we had to navigate through due to Irene and the whore she was, but other than that it was 48 degree water and will trout all day long.
At first fish wanted SMALL tailwater type flies such wlats worms, rainbow warriors, brassies and the sorts. Down lower they want a stripped olive bugger and closer to the take out they want a SMALLLLL hornberg stripped on a sink tip haha
My buddy crushed some nice fish! Was a great day to be out! Had some of my favorite craft beers, saw some old, dried up hatchet wounds in kayaks, no hooks in my finger this trip, and saw a hippo!!
As soon as we took out, the skies opened up!
Keep it up rain gods. We need a storm to park over Harriman Ressie for days to fill that fucker up for fall....
Enjoy the pics!
